My late wife Judy and I started painting, more than twenty years ago, when we retired.
Initially I painted in watercolour, but now work in acrylic, mixed media or pastel. I’ve a passion for painting landscape or townscape, often focusing on older or derelict structures in the context of their natural surroundings. I like to create my larger paintings in stronger, more vibrant colours, and the lockdowns of 2020/2021 saw me turn to the garden for inspiration. Hopper is an artist I very much admire, and whose work has had a significant influence on mine.
I’m an active committee member of the Shropshire Art Society, organising workshops, classes, social events and painting holidays for the membership, and I regularly exhibit in the Society’s exhibitions.
